Scouts

Cub Scout Pack 1774 is open to all youth, girls and boys, from kindergarten to fifth grade. Our scouts learn the basics of Scouting, like the Scout Oath and Law, and also begin learning how to be good citizens, how to be safe and respectful in the outdoors, and how to be a team player. In fourth and fifth grade, scouts begin learning more advanced skills as they prepare to cross over to a scout troop.

Our pack has many exciting activities planned for this year. We are taking field trips to the Connecticut Science Center and snow tubing, building and racing our Pinewood Derby cars, and sleeping overnight at Mystic Aquarium in April.

The pack meeting schedule is as follows:

BSA Troops 1774 for boys and girls (ages 12-18) provides a great opportunity for kids to learn many life skills and hobbies. The two Troops are youth lead and the scouts decide what they want to do at meetings and where to go for activities. We camp, fish, hike, build fires, build confidence and build leadership skills.

We have a great jamboree trip coming up in October where we will spend the weekend with 6000 other scouts at an event called MassJam.  Also, we host a ScoutThanksgiving in November for our Troop families to all join together for a delicious meal and give thanks for our blessings.
